Hi there,
My boyfriend and I are moving from Scotland to the Montreux area at the end of August (have spent the 'summer' wistfully comparing our weather with the weather in Vaud, and really can't wait!) and have temporary accommodation in Montreux arranged through my work for when we arrive. Unfortunately, however, they have a 'no pets' policy, and so my Dad was going to look after our cat, Milla, back in Scotland till we arranged somewhere. However, he's now going to be away for ten days in September - my sister can pop by each day and feed Milla, but she'll be pretty lonesome on her own for all that time, so my ideal would be if she could come over with us and stay with someone locally till we find somewhere.
Is anyone in the Montreux area (we have a car, so it can be within driving distance) up for a feline houseguest? We're in a position to rent somewhere immediately, so hopefully it wouldn't be for more than a month or so, if that. She's just turned one and is healthy (she'll need to have a fit-to-travel check three weeks before we come) and very sweet. She's been allowed outdoors during the day since May, but we'd prefer for her to stay indoor if she was somewhere on a temporary basis.
We'd provide food, litter, litter box (she has a 'walk in' one with a door), her radiator bed and favourite blanket. Ideally, we'd like to also come and visit her, so hopefully it would be a nice way to meet someone/s local too! I'm going to be teaching English in Montreux and my boyfriend, a chef, is going to continue to work in the North Sea on a three on / three off basis. We're particularly looking forward to the sporty side of life in Switzerland, in particular mountain biking and snowboarding.
I hope this isn't a cheeky request - I'm obviously happy to pay you a price we both agree on; I just want her to be in a home, rather than a cattery, and somewhere where she'll have company - she's never spent a whole night home alone, and although she's a self sufficient little thing, like most cats, she does like company to be there so she can ignore it as she chooses, or deign to come up for some strokes and cuddles!
Do PM if interested. I've tried to attach a photo of Milla to this but not sure if it's worked!
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Kate :)
