I accidentally paid US taxes twice (well, actually, they sent me a reminder and I paid again...) and now received a cheque for the money. I went to my bank and of course they can't cash it due to some new stupid regulations.
Will the US tax office also remit the money to a bank account instead, or can I send the cheque to someone in the States who would cash it for me (even though it has my name on it?)... or should I forget about the money and regard it as donation to the US.
