Just introducing ourselves.
My name is Monica, I was born in Suriname, South America, moved to the Netherlands when I was 14.
Moved to Ireland in 2008 where I met my husband (in 2011).
His name is Theo a half Swiss / half English Gardener.
Born in UK, raised in Ireland.
We decided to move to CH to try our luck here.
Now living in Monchaltorf :)
I'm not sure what and how much I can tell about ourselves, I need to 'study' the rules of this forum.
We've lived in Ireland, in a rural area in West Cork, in a Eco-cabin - without electricity.
Honestly, It is a bit of getting used to the concept of Rules, Bills, finding employers who hire non-German speakers, Bills (yes, I know, I've named that twice since it is expensive living here) :)
Looking for genuine friendship, interesting social groups, fun happenings etc, etc.
I'm sure we'll find our way here eventually - or flee back screaming (that was a joke. I've learned by now to announce a joke....):msngrin:
I am glad that this English Forum exist, there are a lot of topics covered and you may even get lucky to get some free household stuff :-)
So, the next step is to learn to speak German, since we are living here now (at least for the coming 4 - 6 years).
Monchaltorf is a great place to live so far.
Close to nature and therefor a bit easier for us ( at the moment that includes: Theo, Monica & our Finnish Spitz dog Amalia)
Hopefully we can meet (also English) speaking friends here :)
