We've been looking at renting a new build apartment in the area around us, and have found ones that we're very interested in. They have photos and floor plans of the design and layout, and everything looks great.
Ideally, we'd be able put a reservation payment down for the apartment before the showing date, which is in September, but because we have to give 3 months notice for moving out of our apartment, we'd like to get something locked down now so we can give notice and have very little overlap.
Is this a thing here? I've sent an email to the agency, but I'm nervous to call with my mediocre German skills. If we could put money down on an apartment, and then confirm that we want it and pay actual deposits after the showing it would make things quite a bit easier.
Any chance? Or is it something we'll likely have to wait for and hope they choose use from the showing applications?
