After living outside the U.S. for many years, I have made my decision to finally start the process of renouncing. Just as background: prior to relocating to CH (now nearly 4 years), I lived in the UK for 10 years. Each year since moving out of the US, I dutifully filed my us tax forms.
Question: has anyone have any recent experience with renouncing? I read articles including articles relating to the "exit tax", to which, I believe, I will not be subjected to. What is the current waiting time - to get an appointment in Bern? Waiting time til completion?
