Which office to sue EU companies using the Luganer Übereinkommen SR 0.275.12 ?

Hi,

I read in the forum that to sue a Swiss company you send them a Betreibung, however when I spoke to my local Betreibungsamt they told me that although they were aware of the Luganer Übereinkommen (Lugano Convention) that their office is not able to process non-Swiss addresses.

As the amount concerned is only a few hundred francs I don't want to spend too much money on paying a lawyer, especially as I believe Switzerland has a legal process similar to the UK's small claims court which doesn't allow you to claim back legal fees.

Has anyone used the Lugano Convention in Switzerland, and can tell me in which office I need to register my claim? Also, it would be useful to know if such proceedings can be conducted in English or French, as my German isn't very good? And which country's consumer law applies?

Regards,
Banjo
