Hoping someone more techy than me can recommend a good wifi card/modem for the PC.
I have a new Swisscom connection 200mbs up/down. Speedcheck on the Swisscom box shows that this is what I am actually getting (most of the time). By the time it gets to the computer, it's more around 15-40 mbps. Not too bad but I would obviously like to get closer to the 200/200.
Currently I have a USB modem (don't hurt me) and I am hoping that getting something better will solve the problem, ie that the USB is the bottleneck. I think I have something like http://ift.tt/1P30duD. Or maybe I need to fiddle with some settings?
Anyway, I am willing to spend a couple of hundred chuffs to get closer to the 200/200, but didn't want to just get a 200 CHF modem in case it made no difference...
Ethernet is not an option sadly. The internet box and PC are in the same room but maybe 10-15m apart. (yes it's a big room).
Help much appreciated. I have looked for other similar threads but couldn't find anything relevant without spending all day on the search.
