Originally we had never planned to move apartment, but an apartment came up at the last minute which we absolutely loved so went for it, were accepted and handed the termination of our current apartment in by the end of June.
Unfortunately, I did not cancel the parking place, not realising that it was a totally separate contract. This means that we have to keep the parking place at our current apartment until the end of January 2016 even though we are moving out at the end of September this year.
The additional frustrating factor being that the start of the parking place is not until September, and the car for which the parking place was required has now been delayed on delivery until the end of September, so we will actually never use it.
Unfortunately there are many apartments empty in our buildings at the moment, meaning many parking spaces also free, so finding someone to take over the place is going to be difficult.
Any ideas on how we can minimize the damage here?
