Is there anyone out there in Need of a ride to the UK next week and possibly returning the following week? Have room for 1 due loads of luggage. This way I wouldn't have to do all the driving myself :)

The ultimate Swiss neighbor
I just need to let out! If I keep it for myself I might end up burning this building down to ashes!
So, happy birthday Switzerland! 1. August is your day and people should celebrate, not my downstairs neighbor though. She tends to be weird but normally would keep her weirdo crap for herself and not bother anyone, until today.
At 06:45 as any other day my puppy started jumping and crying to go out. As any other day, I woke up, got dressed and went out with her looking like a heroin addict. 15 minutes later we are back, catch the lift and find a note on my door saying that I should be quieter. No name, no nothing.
I say alright I might have been too loud... whatever... it is the first time. At 09:45 while drinking my well deserved coffee and reading the news my doorbell rang, who could it possible be?, I asked to myself. The neighbor with the Police!! Before starting asking questions they told her to piss off and go home. I let them in and asked them what was this all about. Apparently the neighbor got so angry to be woken up at 06:45 that she called the police saying that I was hitting my GF (she went to Belgium for the weekend) and screaming. She went a step further saying that she saw me leaving this morning with my hands covered with blood.
The police just said that there is no evidence of what she told them, that it is obvious that she has a mental problem and that she will be fined for disrupting me, they also offered me the chance to press charges against her (which I won't do as she is mentally ill). So at 11 or so they left. Time for a second walk with my puppy, she comes out of her apartment and calls me. She invited me for coffee and her husband explained to me that she is bipolar with something else and that they are very very sorry. Outside another neighbor approaches and says that it is not the first time.
I'd much rather have one of those standard bastards that complaint about footsteps or leave dog poop in your mailbox.
Although in this very particular case the subject is Swiss I am aware it can happen with anyone anywhere.
Sorry, I just needed to vent.

Foreign single mum needs a permit.
I am a non Eu single mother having a swiss daughter.
We are not married and her father sends money for her monthly. He is reluctant to pay the expensive international school fee for her in the future.
I hope my daughter to go in schools in Switzerland.
Therefore I am looking into a permit for myself at least until she goes to university there.
I am afraid my case is really rare.
Is there possibility for me to get residence permit?

Moving to the UK
Hi friends,
After almost 3 years in Switzerland, my fellow American partner and myself are high-tailing it to England for a new job. We are so bummed to leave but excited/apprehensive/stressed for our new home!
I also want to thank you all for how helpful this forum is. Strangely enough I can't find an equivalent for the UK! Even though we weren't as active as we should have been, I've been so grateful to peruse these forums for advice.
Speaking of, I have some questions about leaving that I couldn't find on the forum. I read the entire sticky, I promise!
Background: I just de-registered this week, but our leaving situation is a bit funny :) We leave in ~3 weeks for the US to get married, and when we return a couple weeks later in September, I will enter as a tourist and then the next day leave to the UK. We booked these tickets long ago and it was too expensive to change them from Zurich to London, and I was told by the border control it should be just fine.
My soon-to-be husband, on the other hand, will need to stay at least a couple of weeks longer in Switzerland. He has his own B permit, not connected to mine, and this will be fine.
My questions concern my de-reigstration: is it possible to send the de-registration confirmation to my insurance etc. AFTER I have left?
This is partly because the bank account and cell phone are in my name, and Mr. vrabbit will need those things while he's still here. I don't want to bother with changing names and the hassle that would be just for a few weeks.
Another thing is that if I cancel my insurance when I leave I will technically be without for the time we are in the US until I reach the UK, so that could be bad :) It would be convenient to also send the de-registration to them after I have left.
Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!
